Bearded Dragon
Habitat
Bearded dragons are native to Australia in the rocky areas. They are moderate sized lizards and do not require a large enclosure. They can be kept in a cage or tank. A 55 gallon tank is plenty big enough for a bearded dragon. A cage should be at least two feet long. The temperature should be around 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. The bearded dragon requires special UVA and UVB lights to avoid developing Metabolic Bone Disease.
Diet
Bearded dragons eat primarily vegetables and crickets. In the wild they would eat berries or insects. Berries should be offered as a treat. Some berries that should be offered are strawberries, raspberries, black berries, and blue berries. Their daily diets should consist of lettuce, cabbage or any typical produce. Juicy treats are always acceptable like pineapple, mango, or nectarine. They are very friendly simple pets and require a simple diet every day.
